People who got accepted/rejected with the supplemental questionnaires

I was wondering how many people who received the supplemental questions that got accepted or rejected in UCSD. I personally got one but not sure if I will get accepted.

I would like people who did get accepted or rejected to post their GPA and SAT score on here. (If not then its fine)

I think once decisions are out, this thread should be really insightful

It would be helpful for next year’s applicants who receives the supplemental questionnaires

Got one from UCSD last year. From what I understand, most of the time, it means you’re borderline and is still in the running/haven’t been flat out rejected yet.

Stats: ~4.2 GPA/~2030 SAT/some EC’s. Was accepted in the end.

Honestly, it’s completely random. Getting one and filling it out to the best of your ability doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get accepted and even looking at the stats of people who received the questions but were rejected/accepted won’t give you a good indication of whether or not you’ll be accepted/rejected.

I had friends who never took any AP classes or only took a few and that I thought would never have a chance at even a low tier UC, and they got accepted into Berkeley/LA/SD/Davis, then I have friends who did everything they could(4.0+GPA/2k+ SAT/etc) but didn’t get into Berkeley and LA and then there’s that one friend who got rejected by every single UC(Yes, even Merced) but got into Yale.

Currently attending Davis, but looking at the people around me, there’s quite a few that get me wondering, “How the hell did this guy even get in here?” My lab partner for example, is a chemE major but doesn’t even know how to dilute an acid, or do anything for that matter.

Point is, there’s no use worrying, researching or whatever right now. Just wait another month until the decisions come out cause its completely random.

@Onikage34 thank you for commenting on this forum! I agree, the best thing to do right now is to just wait

bump, if anyone has gotten into UCSD with a supplemental please post your result…this will be helpful for next year’s applicants. I’m pretty stoked about what will be the result for me since I got the supplemental.

My friend got in with a supplemental. He has like a 4.1 with a 1900-ish SAT.

bump

I did not get a supplemental questionnaire and was accepted today! :~)
I am assuming you have a 50/50 shot of getting in with the supplemental.
They use it to differentiate among candidates w/ same EC’s, GPA, ACT/SAT

I was accepted yesterday and did not receive supplemental. 4.00 uw, 31 act and 2070 sat. OOS

I received a supplement and my portal still says wait until March 30th

[/ul]General Comments/Additional Information:[list]

Denied with supplemental, appalling UCSD, very appalling. I am so glad I am not going here since they are pulling the UCI now. I only applied for my sister and that was it.,.I visited the campus and I didn’t really fall in love I was just like, “Oh, cool.” Still an amazing school though for a specific group of people, I’m happy that UCSD accepted my sister and that was her dream school! Thanks for the time, UCSD!!!

I seriously hate how undergraduate admissions put so much value into GPA and not the person itself, I hate it. :frowning: It’s so unlucky for people who have difficult lives.

Waitlisted with supplemental

4.2 UC GPA
