UCLA just requested supplemental information about me and I was wondering if this is a good thing or bad thing? Also, did anyone else receive this?
Also wondering if it’s good or bad. I received it just now.
It’s not great but it’s not bad either. It means they Are considering accepting you but for one reason or another they aren’t sure if you would be the right fit for ucla. Something in your app was missing or they didn’t like something about it something casted doubt in the readers mind.
So this is your chance to convince them that you’re worthy
Take it as a positive thing and a second chance to fortify your application!
Did anyone, in addition to the UCLA supplemental, receive the UCSD supplemental? I received one for UCSD, but never got one for UCLA; does that imply I’m a borderline applicant for UCSD and probably an automatic reject at UCLA? Thx in advance.
I got the UCLA supplemental. I ended up being accepted. Good luck!
Last time feb 2nd ppl got regents scholar mail also
@misterstax yes the ucla supplementals went out on friday and are due next wednesday. and about your theory, unfortunately thats how it works for most people who receive supplementals to one school but not the other. especially when the one they didn’t get one for has a lower percentage of acceptances than the one they did. UCLA acceptance rate is literally half of UCSD’s
Last year’s thread strongly supports this. There was a girl who got a supplemental from UCLA and UCI and nothing from UCSD. She got into both UCI and UCLA but not UCSD.
@misterstax The same thing happened to me and I’m now very anxious.
Don’t even worry; I just Got into Berkeley Regents!!! UC’s are very weird, don’t worry about it.
@UCLAstan I must disagree with some of what you wrote. My niece received the supplemental questionnaire from UCLA but not from any of the other UCs she applied to. She wound up being accepting to all five: UCLA, UCSD, Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara and UC Santa Cruz. UCLA was the only one that wanted additional information. Each university is different.
We viewed the fact that she received a supplementary questionnaire from UCLA as a plus: it showed she was still in serious contention, and it provided her with the opportunity to share additional information.
Does anyone know what percentage of students who receive the request actually get in? I got the request last month like everyone else, but my stats are low for UCLA standards so I was really surprised. I only know of one other person from my school who got it and we both applied under polysci, which we thought was a weird coincidence. Best of luck to everyone in the next two weeks though, this is a stressful time!
