What proportion of those who get the supplemental questionnaire...

...get admitted? What proportion are denied admission? Are such stats available? do we know?

Thanks.

I would like to know too....

My best guess is that it's better than 1/2. I tried to find some stats on it, but couldn't. So I looked at a bunch of the past posts and based on my own experience, and others who got in and posted (like me) after the supplemental Q. thing, I base it entirely on "more likely than not". Ok, not too scientific, but I keep remembering someone a few years back saying "they're looking for a reason to admit you", so I guess the answer is, if you don't completely screw up the supp q. and you actually answer (vs. ignore) the request, it's better than 1/2.

well looking at CC posts is not really an accurate representation of those stats considering that CC kids are generally "better" than the average populace.

and that CC kids are about <4% of the applicant pool.

The huge majority of Cal admits do not receive the supplemental questionnaire.

Also, the vast majority of rejects receive nothing.

It is a small number of students where they are still making up their minds. Some borderline. Some with special talents. Some had faced significant life challenges.

I agree with beatchick

they send a supplemental for a reason, they wouldn't want to waste their and your time if they didn't wanted a way to accept u (100% sure)

i didn't get supplemental.. my stats were kinda bad lol.

I'm so nervous!

I got the supplemental questionnaire, and I don't know what to think. I guess we can kind of gauge what the stats might be if we start our own tally on the site?

^ You should think "it's a good thing!"

In 2002, the acceptance rate for those who get the supplemental questionnaire was almost equivalent to the acceptance rate of the applicant pool (25% at the time). Roughly 1,800-2,000 applicants were referred to the Augmented Review pool, and 400-500 were admitted. I don't know if they hold the same standards anymore though.

^ I don't think so...

all of the people I know who receive the supplemental got in to UCB and UCLA respectively.
They wrote darn good essay though, like super duper ones

if i didnt get the questionnaire then i know im in!
