Just wondering if UT allows its students to carry pepper spray and/or mace?
I don’t know the answer to your question but, I saw this advertised the other day. Looks like a great upgrade to a regular safety whistle and it continues to text your location every three minutes.

Yes, it is allowed on campus and is legal in Texas in small personal-defense sizes.
It would be hilariously hypocritical if you could concealed carry a firearm on campus (which you can, if over 21 and licensed), but not mace or pepper spray.
A word of advice, though: Before arming yourself or your child with personal defense spray, make sure you/he/she first understands the use of force laws in Texas. You don’t have to have any training or licensing to carry the stuff in TX, but a little bit of self-education about what is and isn’t a “reasonable” use can save the carrier a lot of grief.
Much thanks @PokeyJoe and @DreamSchlDropout!
