I have seen the scale at College Board, but different people I ask seem to have different methods. Is there a ‘standard’ way to convert percentage grade to GPA? My HS doesn’t do four point GPA at all. Here are the two methods I’ve heard:
- find average all my percentages, then convert to GPA.
- convert all my percentages to GPAs first, then average the GPAs.
the two methods will arrive at different results. For example, in the first method say I get a 90’s in one class, and an 80’s in another, they can probably even out in a low 90, which I see can correspond to a 4.0 or thereabouts. However, if I average the two GPAs, via the second method, I wouldn’t be close to a 4.
So does this depend on the college?
Thank you so much!
