Just wanted to share a phone call I received today from UD. I mailed Dining Services a check for additional points to add onto my son's meal plan. One of the employees just called me to let me know that the points expire at the end of the spring term. She was making sure I was aware of this before she cashed the check. She did not want us to waste money in case he did not use all the points. I think this was a very nice thing to do and it shows you can get personal attention at a medium-sized state university.

yes, I agree that the one who help you is a responsible and nice guy. But, I just wonder if this is the common UD culture. Based on my experience, at least, people in Admission Office are not that generally helpful (may be just by incidents ...)

how are the current students' experiences in seeking help from professors, advisors, counsellors and admin officers???

I can only speak from our experience, however, all contact has been positive. When we were waiting to hear regarding admission and a scholarship last year, we received a number of prompt emails in response. As far as access to professors and advising, it has been excellent. From what my son has reported, he is getting personalized advice and assistance. Professors have held study sessions on their own time, and they have gone out of their way to give help and be available. This is true in both the large and small classes.

We had positive experiences with both Admissions and Financial Aid at UDel this spring. Prompt response, very polite. No problems so far.
