<p>My common app. essay is actually an edited form of an essay that I originally wrote for an English class. </p>
<p>1- Do you think adcoms look more favorably on essays that are on one of the given topics?
2- Should I include a prompt for my essay, as they do for the others, or should I just give them what i wrote?</p>

<p>Doesn’t matter what essay topic you choose. The sixth option is a topic of your choice, so you should be fine.</p>
<p>I personally do not like the topic of your choice option, but its just as legit as any others. I don’t think colleges will prefer one topic over another, and it gives you a chance to be unique and stand out over the other applications. If its a good essay, go for it. I chose the Literary Figures question for that same reason, it lends to more uniqueness.</p>
<p>It is very difficult to first of all select an essay topic and then stop working on it. So what is a good essay? How do I know if my essay is good?
