I need help with my personal essays for both prompts, my life is so plain. My parents are immigrants but they didn't leave because of hardships they were facing in the country, and didn't have to suffer and learn English or anything. I also haven't done anything that I feel proud of accomplishing. So what do I write about there's nothing special about me, except if you count being of African descendant and having a weird/unique name.

"Describe the world you come from - for example, your family, community or school - and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations."

For this prompt one I was thinking of having my world be my imagination or creativity or something because I daydream a lot or have it be books or something, but that hasn't shaped my dreams. My dreams and aspirations just happened nothing influenced them. I want to be a writer after reading so many books I guess, pediatrician after taking care of my mom's friends kids, and model because I want too.

Also prompt 2
"Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?"

I have no talent accomplishment or contribution or experience that is important to me. A personal quality I have would be that I always look on the bright side of things no matter what happens but how do I write about that.

So how should I approach these subjects I don't know what to do? Any ideas?

Think about hobbies. What do you love to do? What would you do if you didn’t need sleep? You say that nothing influenced your dreams, but you cite books and your mom’s friends kids as influences. There’s got to be one thing at least you’re proud of. Getting up the courage to model? Writing despite fear of failure? Leading a club at school? What shaped your optimistic attitude? How and why do you stay positive? For describing your world, what’s your family like? Your friend group?

I’m just throwing out ideas for you to see if any stick. IDK if i was any help but good luck :)

That sounds like a perfectly fine essay topic to me: how your world of babysitting has led to you to aspire to be a pediatrician.

You have experiences. And they may seem small, but many have a large impact on you. Think about it this way: if your English teacher assigned a personal narrative, what would you write about and why? You would have to choose something, so what is it?

Thanks I thought of a few ideas what do you think

Prompt 1 Describe the world you come from - for example, your family, community or school - and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

Idea 1 My World is wonderland. Where anything is impossible. Help shape gave me the idea that I can be anything I want to be if I just try. World I come from not a world at all a place where impossible things may happen.

Prompt 2 Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

Idea 2 My Quality is Optimistic, make me proud makes going through life easier. Relate ti me always happy.

Idea 3 Willing to try. Important to me. Accomplishment/Experience. Proud prove I can do anything. If I can go on the roller coaster I can do anything. Represent me I always try no matter what. I always thought of myself as a daredevil but I’m not and going on that roller coaster help open my eyes
