Personal insight tips?

I’ve just begun answering the personal insight questions (yes, I know I’m late). Are there any tips and tricks you folks have to can help me out? Also, if anyone would like to read and make suggestions to my essays after I have finished them, I would appreciate it!

They’re totally redesigned from previous years, so those who have successfully transferred haven’t asked the types of questions you need to, or the quantity that you are.

In general though, find a way to tell your story and make you stand out. Be clear with what you’re trying to say, don’t rely on hidden meaning or metaphors or things that make the readers think about what you’re trying to say, because they don’t have the time for it.

I would reccommend trying for a specific experience you feel holds real value in your life. Describe it, but not in too much detail. At the end, explain how it has impacted you in some form. Doesn’t have to be monumental, but just important to you. Keep it concise and true to you. I’ve just submitted the application on the 1st and I felt in my essays upon completion that a piece of me was transferred on that app. Just follow your heart in your writing and I’m sure you’ll be able to go with the flow. Don’t try to sound pretentious at all as well. Sorry if not the best help just tried to give my two-cents". Best of Luck!

Ill add my two cents. We have all heard our teachers insist we take a trip to our english center for essay help. Now wouldn’t be a bad time to go ask more assistance. I know I am.

What has had a strong impact on your current personality and lifestyle, and what would you enjoy writing about? Your passion has to come through, no matter what it is. Think about WHY it made you who you are, HOW it has affected you, and WHAT you will take from the experience in order to improve the future of yourself and others.

As for editing your drafts, I suggest taking it to an english teacher you know (ask them if it sounds like you) AND an english teacher you DON’T know (as they will be able to judge your essay without any knowledge of who you are, similarly to an admissions officer ).
