In order to fit in all my ECs and significant awards, I'm including a separate personal resume with my Common App.

Question: how exactly do I combine this in a professional way with the EC/Honors section on the Common App? DO I have to complete that section at all, or just say see resume?

Also, since I'm attaching something extra, I obviously can't send anything online through commonapp.org, can I?

Honestly, I wrote “see resume” in a lot of spots on the Common App, then formatted my resume the way I felt fit, making up my own categories if need be.

I </3 the Common App. Insert gagging noises here.

wow hooken…you seem to be seriously overconcerned with this types of stuff and other silly questions (like moving and regarding location, lmao).

Calm down, man. It’s not a big deal, seriously, just format it the way you want to.
Lmao..

But:
Did you put “see resume” in the EC section? I’m curious about this as well.

If you are going to attach a resume in place of the EC chart, why not just put SEE RESUME and have them see it? Does it make sense to complete a chart, just to attach a more complete chart?

Do NOT fail to fill in the Common App as much as possible, even if you send in a resume. I filled in the Extracurriculars/Academic Awards, etc. and sent in a separate activites sheet that echoed my main ones and gave additional smaller ones, but the adcoms will use the Common App to see which ones are most important/the major awards.

That should work fine. In the “additional details” section I listed and explained all my advanced math courses taken (I was in a special program) and other courses taken at a local college, so I printed a hard copy and had my counselor include it with the school report.

Request for clarity here: When creating a resume or some other form of attached additional information on ECs and/or awards – fill in the regular grid AND repeat but expand upon the info, OR … leave the grid blank except to say, “See attachment”?

Second question: E-mail additional EC/award type info or mail as hard copy?
