Personal statement: "I did crappy in HS but now I'm more mature doing well in CC

<p>Plus, i graduated from an HS for "at-risk" kids. Is this a good general point for my personal statement? I'm a bit afraid that this type of PS might be overdone. Is this too typical or would it be fine if I expanded on it a bit?</p>

<p>Explain what you learn from it. I’ve heard UC’s hate reading the cliche essay of how hard their life is. They prefer what you’ve learned I believe.</p>

<p>my letter said something more or less along the same lines…just make sure you focus on the learning/growing experience and not the mediocrity.</p>
