Hello I just finished my personal statement and I'm not sure if its ready. I have graded it plently of times and this is my final product Is this any good? Any type of info would make me happy.

There I was, another huge game against our mighty rivals, Sylmar High School. Being quarterback was no easy job, that's exactly why I like it. The day of the game, I realized that my life can be described by football and my family. The relationship with my family and my football career has given me the opportunity to seek out a career for the benefit of myself that would make my family proud.

I come from a family who didn't graduate high school as well as didn't even attend college. I will be the first person in my family to go to a university. I'm mexican-american and I represent the Arballo family. My mother has been a single parent doing her best to be supportive of me. As a child and teenager, my mother has yelled and pushed me to my limit of anger. The reason was because she didn't want me to become like her as in a non-high school graduate. My mother noticed that the individuals around our town were not influencing so she told me to becareful with the people I hang out with. Most of the parents that lived around me, had not even graduated high school. I knew that my life couldn't be like theirs and I knew I had to achieve in college. Hobos lived around every corner of my town so giving up some cash wasn't too bad. I never really like to walk around at night because our town seemed scary because of all the gangster that were around. My community had just about everything I needed, a Walmart, McDonalds, Target, and a food store. Panorama City was just perfect.
My community has not only changed who I am, but also decided what I want to achieve in life. I have witnessed several disabled people in wheelchairs and this just breaks my heart. Seeing a person who can't afford an operation hurts me. Looking at the people with sad faces disturbs me. They deserve to have the right ablities as I do. My interest in the human body has fascinated me for many years. I want to be the guy that can help them in any way possible and make them normal human beings. Not for fame, but the guarentee that I will make people's lives a much better place. Finding out my strengths and weakness through my years of education has helped me find my passion. My passion for science and mathematics has led me to choose to becoming a brain surgeon. This is not my final decision but its a probabality I could choose. My intention for life is to make my family proud of my achievements and to certainly make my last name a living legend.

Football in general made me who I am today. Being a starter made my personality. I never started out as a starter and I'm glad I didn't. My competition was extremely good and I knew getting in front wasn't going to be easy. It started out from simply going to practice and working as hard as I possibly could because my competition took it slight off because he was a starter. I got picked on because I was skinny. I got yelled at plently of times because of my mistakes but I took those for granted. After practice, I went home and practiced an extra hour of my techniques. I knew this wasn't enough so I went old school and watched some Youtube videos on how to train as a quarterback. On days the I didn't have practice, such as holidays, I went to the park and just threw the ball around, by myself. When I had the chance to tell my friends about me practicing by myself, they laughed and said "you need to get bigger". I thank them for that. This encouraged me to get bigger and work out at home. As the season came by and I continued my routine, I ended up starting eight of ten games my junior year. When it came to how bad I wanted to play, I never procastinated on the things I had to do.

What makes me proud of being a starter is it made me a leader through the dedication. It made me control my offense and learn so much that not everything goes as planned. Im proud that I was able to even play football and not be home doing anything social. Being a quarterback made my confidence level shoot sky high. I became confident in my abilites. I wasn't afraid to overcome challenges anymore because playing quarterback was the hardest position on the field. I became involved in leading a team because I called the plays and told them what to do. I became more talkative because I had to communicate. Without football, I would not be the person I am today.
