I submitted my UC application a few weeks ago, but as I was looking over my application today, I realized that ""Freshman applicants to the College of Engineering are advised to discuss their interest in their intended major in the personal statement (transfer applicants are required to discuss their interest in their intended major)"" for Berkeley. I had completely overlooked this part, so I didn't reference engineering in either of my personal statements... In my activities list, I included a research internship that I did over the summer that's sort of related to engineering...

How much does this really matter? I always thought the personal statements were to help the college gauge what kind of person you really are and I feel like an essay on why engineering wouldn't be able to showcase what kind of person I am.

Any thoughts/opinions would be helpful!

Thanks.
