UC berk engineering

When filling out the UC app I found this for Berkeley:
"Freshman applicants to the College of Engineering are advised to discuss their interest in their intended major in the personal statement (transfer applicants are required to discuss their interest in their intended major)."

There are two personal statements though, so I'm not sure which one I need to include my interest in engineering in. Does anyone know if it goes in essay 1 or 2? Also, wouldn't the other UCs find it odd that were discussing this in our personal statement?

Either one (or both) works. The other UCs would likely be fine with it, unless you’re applying for a completely different major at the other UCs.

So I did it for Essay 2…and I do have the same major for all the UCs (Computer Science and Engineering)…Is that ok?

Yeah I’m doing the same. My personal statement #2 talks about my major in computer science and how I have job experience, passion, etc. Statement #1 is more “personal.”
