Personal Statements Confusion!!

I am very confused about the character limits on the personal statements.

It says, "Please respond to each of the following questions using a maximum of 1,500 characters (spaces and punctuation included) in the space provided."

Does this mean 1500 characters EACH or between the two???

One of the responses only allowed for 1200 characters, so that led me to believe that it's 1500 between both, not each, otherwise they would've allowed you to use the maximum 1500 characters.

That said, however, it says I still have 900 characters for the 1st response left and 600 characters for the 2nd. When I press "print preview" it only fills up about half of the space. I am quite happy with my responses, and I think they are concise, but do you think NYU would mind if it does mean 1500 EACH???

bump…

1500 each as I remember it. But if you can write a quality answer in less, it’s fine. Remember, quality over quantity. And if you can impress an admissions officer w/o taking too much of his/her time, then that’s a good thing!

i assumed it meant 1500 for both too, but now I’ve forgotten why… if you think your answers are good, go for it. concise is good.
