NYU Specific Application

For the personal statement section, what does 500 characters mean as opposed to 500 words for the essays? Does this mean commas, periods, etc are included? And for the part where it says seven lines does that mean in the box they provided?

Commas, periods, etc. and spaces are all included in the 500 characters. You don't have to worry about lines... that's basically the 500 character restriction in the box online.

I think it won't let you type more than 500 characters so once it starts erasing the letters you're typing, you know you've hit the limit.

Thank you both. Also, for the fourth personal statement, I plan on applying undecided. The fourth personal statement is " Please tell us what led you to select your anticipated academic program and/or NYU school/college, and what interests you most about your intended discipline." How do I possibly answer this being undecided?

Talk about how you're undecided (though I would call it something that sounds better, haha). It does ask you why you chose the college you did as well.
