I’m sorry. This post popped up somewhere I was reading… There is a big rivalry between Middleton and Blake in our town…

that has to do with potential psychopath at MIT because…?

Of course you are entitled to your personal beliefs. However, the kind of creationist mentality you expose above might make it more difficult to engage in the type of scientific inquiry that is required in some MIT courses.

I am a wizard!!!
haha just kidding. I don’t understand what you mean by exceeding being human…I learn since I like it too…who doesn’t??

didn’t even read the original post, lol. what a creep

Lol I just had to do this.

I want to join in this necro orgy too! Can I?

@pfaocltd: hahahaa, brilliant!

I can totally picture an essay response along those lines: “Explain what your future goals/aspirations are”: “My ultimate goal is to exceed being human. To do this, I want to study artificial intelligence. Why build robots, when we can transform ourselves through bionics?”

I don’t believe that this fellow understands that he will always be human.

This was quite an interesting thread to read.

I wonder whether he was accepted, and whether he’s still human.

Wuuuut? Lol this is ridiculous. But it made me laugh a lot.

Omg ahhh I really hope for OP’s sake that was a ■■■■■… But that was hilarious.

Am I the only one who thinks OP sounds a lot like Sheldon Cooper on Big Bang Theory (but less upbeat and positive)? I’m recalling a specific episode where:

Sheldon hiding in his bedroom, while manuevering a virtual self through life to avoid illness and death.

he laments that he will die before the technology is developed to make himself immortal via transfer of his intelligence to a robot.

The idea was clever and funny in the sit com, seems sad, ego-maniacal and anti-social to me.

Agreed. Who knows? This guy could be Sheldon…

This guy might or might not be the actual Sheldon BUT I agree on the point that he is highly impressed by him !!!

What a trippy thread to read… it kind of put me off that he kept referring to “humans” as though his DNA designated him to be a different species entirely… Also, I just re-watched X-Men: First Class, so genetic mutations kept popping into my head.

The arrogance I sensed was slightly mind-numbing as well. Did anyone look up antisocial personality disorder and check him for red flags?

At the same time, I was unhappy reading this, and that means I was outside my comfort zone and my views were being challenged. I’ll call that a good thing, as now I have new philosophies to consider.

Fascinating, fascinating.

^The notion of trying to reach a higher plane or state of consciousness than the ordinary person is prolific in philosophy and religion. I think Jung called this self-actualization.

And many people associate extreme excellence in a skill that interests them with self-actualization.

Also, Aerex toys with the idea of achieving immortality through science, something which scientists are working towards right now (wit more modest language of course.)

So the ideas in themselves are not that out of the ordinary. Aerex just finds an amusing way to express them.

You can joke about his posts, but diagnosing someone with a psychological disorder should not be done lightly even on an anonymous forum.

thanks to who dug up this post. there are some interesting people out there! lol almost can’t believe Aerex’s amount of arrogance

Wow this is probably the most interesting thread I have ever read on CC. I wonder if OP got into MIT.

(I doubt it)
