Personality types of prospective UChicago students

A whole bunch of I’s and N’s.

Well i took two tests and got ENTJ and the second time I got ISTJ. So the T and J are definitely me. Probably because I like to think a lot! And that goes into the J, because I’m very analytical and I empathize with people, but I guess more so than I sympathize. Kinda like, I can always “understand” and"relate", but that doesn’t necessarily mean “when you hurt, I hurt”. As far as the first test I was a 51/49 split between E and I, which is me. I like being social, but I like my me time. And I am definitely S and not N. I like the facts and then working with what I know. I need a foundation I can latch onto before I jump the gun.

But I think it’s interesting to note that I didn’t get more than 55% on any category on the first test. I guess that just describes me. Which is why in government I am the most moderate person in my class getting a 49 on social issues and 50 on economic issues. I fit in everywhere and nowhere all at the same time.

The fact that so many people here KNOW about the Myers Briggs test is getting me excited about the prospect of being a student at U Chicago :D. When I first tested a few years ago I was an INFP, but since then I think I’ve become a little bit more outgoing and now straddle the INFP/ENFP border.

INTJ right here. Seems like N and J are definitely strong in UChicago students. More Is than Es. Ts seem to outnumber the Fs.

Many more INTJ UChicago students than the average for a population. This probably helped the “Fun goes to die” rumor start.

I’m an INTJer as well. According to Wikipedia (so don’t hold me to this), INTJ is only about 1-4% of the population. We’re special!

What does ENFJ mean I am? UChicago is my number one dream school am I a fit?

I’m ENFP all the way. Hopefully there are more at Chicago.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

ENFP here though I am very skeptical about this test. I don’t think people should use this extremely rudimentary test to decide if they’re a ‘fit’ for a university. Though it’s harmless for a bit of fun I suppose.

Usually INFJ, sometimes INTJ.

E 15 52 I
S 19 60 N
T 104 18 F
J 71 21 P
I’m an INTJ. However, it’s worth mentioning that the big five test is more accurate and respected among academics; viz.: <a href=“The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: A popular but flawed way of understanding your personality - 80,000 Hours”>The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: A popular but flawed way of understanding your personality - 80,000 Hours;

INFJ, but close to an INTJ. Really depends on the version of the Myers Briggs test, imo

I wallow between ENTJ and INTJ depending on which online quiz I take.

Based on my experiences classmates filtered by the type of people who like to post on forums, I was expecting the vast majority of Uchicago to be INTJs. Glad to know we have some psychological diversity on here :)

INFJ!

Really hard for me to choose the last letter though:(

Strongly an INTJ

INTJ.

I recommend that all of you look up the model of Jungian functions; it explains the differences between MBTI types better than Myers and Briggs themselves.

am i the only ISTJ?

INFJ All the way :)

ENFJ here, with a really fine line between my F and T (I get a lot of my debater-qualities from the T and my scientist logic but I’m also prone to crying at movies and I empathize with people well). There seems to be a lot of I’s here, I wonder if that’s indicative of the school?

ISTP!!!

Although I will say I’m a prospective grad student. Good luck to all you undergrads!!!

Very, very INFP (which accounts for my low GPA… ha :/)

INTP, borderline INTJ, depending on the weather.
