USC sent me a packet with a sheet of personalized labels for counselors, teachers, and myself to attach to each document submitted to them (essays, rec letters, transcripts, etc). I'm wondering if it's required to do so? My counselor might have already mailed my recs and stuff in without the labels on them, so would that have any impact on me? I'll check to see if my counselor already mailed it, but I would appreciate it if somebody knows the answer. Thanks

don't think it's a big deal. you put your social security number on it right? the barcodes are there to prevent mixups with common names, make sure your app stays all together, and to help them sort through things easier. So as long as they know it's for you it should be fine.

If you can try to put the labels on everything possible that you send the school from whenever you get the labels, it will help them all end up in your file rather than being scattered all over.
You might bring some labels to school tomorrow & ask the counselor to attach them to any docs he hasn't already sent to the school. I don't believe my S was too concerned about getting labels to the counselor & USC had no trouble keeping all his records straight, including the 1st semester & following report cards.

Do you think they mind if the labels are on the outside of envelopes? My counselers have already sealed up my transcripts and stuff.

I'm sure it's fine, but you can call admissions just to double check.

For future docs, try to put stickers on the docs themselves & the outside envelopes. I agree with the post above that it's probably just fine the way you have already one things, but nice to double-check with admissions to put yourself at ease.

I would stick labels on the physical sheets of paper you want to make sure they keep track of. Placing it on the envelope might help a bit, but it doesn't accomplish exactly what was intended; once they open the envelope and the contents are separated, the label on the envelope doesn't do much. :)

i also recieved the same thing and i noticed that there are applications inside so am i suppose to fill those out even if i'm doing the part ii online? thanks!

My S applied on-line. You still need to have the letters of recommendation with printed forms (either you can print them off the web or use the ones they sent you). There is no reason to send duplicates of what you complete on-line.

Wait, what are we talking about here?

I'm a prospective tranfer.

im holding the part 2 application

im assuming i can do everything online except for the college transqripts and the high school records right?

If there are any letters of rec required for transfers, I believe those are also via a paper form (unless they've figured out a way for recommenders to complete them on-line). I know there were letters of recs for prospective freshmen, like my S.
