Peterson's Online Program for SAT, ACT, etc...

Ok, so my school gives us free memberships to Peterson's Student Edge, and I've been using it a little bit now.

But whenever there is a thread on here about bad prep books, it seems like Peterson's is always on the list. Should I bother with the prep courses online if the books aren't that great?

I've got the BB, but I haven't used it. I hope to complete some lessons online and take a BB practice test before the SAT Saturday. I got a 194 on my PSAT and I hope to get to 1400+/32+ by the end of the school year.

Anyone ever use Student Edge? Worth it?

Thanks. Should buy a different prep book and just use that along with the BB?

Thanks again.

It may or may not help you. The best way to find out is to try the BB first and then try the Peterson’s course and see if it bears a resemblance to it. I tried several of the free tests on the Peterson’s website a long time ago and they did not really help me. They were very, very different from the SAT. It all comes down to how accurate the study material is compared to the SAT, in which case the BB is always the best. I would not buy any other book for the SAT in general but I would buy books catering to specific parts of it, e.g., Direct Hits Vocabulary
