<p>Hey guys, I'm in the college of letters and sciences, and I'm thinking of taking Philosophy 21 (Skepticism and Rationality) in Fall 08. However, it's not considered a GE. Has anyone had any luck petitioning a class to count for a GE? Or, has anyone had a petition for a GE be rejected? </p>

<p>I haven't had experience with your exact situation, but you could try and see if there's a similar course offered at your local community college this summer and petition to get GE credit for it (which I <em>have</em> done, and it was approved)</p>

<p>i think i might do that as well, do you remember what you needed for the petition? did you need the course syllabus or anything like that?</p>
<p>I printed out the description of the CC class from the online summer courses catalog, and before they made a final decision the committee asked to see the reading list... but that was it. Pretty easy process.</p>
