Petitions at school

Well, I posted on here about my son wanting to take a stand for a teacher. There are several teachers, several students involved in this now. Many of us parents have gone to the principal and voiced our positive experience with this teacher. We attempted to not have any negatives in our emails and letters. My son organized a group of top students and went to the principal to tell him their concerns about this teacher's demotion. The principal apparently told many statements which the students found out to be untrue. Their sources included past adminstration, statistics, etc. My son and many students want to now get a petition together and to go to a school council meeting to present their concerns. I talked to a former superintendent of another school district about this and he told me that as long as the kids kept this in a positive light with no bashing of administration, then there should be no repurcussions on the students. The principal had sorta threatened the kids that they better be careful what they do as they wouldn't want it to affect their future. Well, all the kids are doing is voicing positives on this teacher and staying away from the negatives. Nobody can figure out what this teacher did to get demoted as the principal will not say and the teacher claims to have no idea but he is really appreciating the support shown for him. Also, the school board does not know about this and the past principal does not know about it and he is also concerned and checking into this situation. A school board member has two children who love this teacher and he is also wanting answers.

Does anyone see anything negative to come out of this for the students?

wrong forum.

but I had a friend start a petition, whose father was a lawyer, which really helped a lot. Maybe consult a lawyer.
