Hi this is kind of a dumb question, but I have a very impractical phobia of common household pets due to some experiences I won’t disclose. Basically, my question is about the faculty heads of houses for Commons: I know it says some of them have pets that live with them, but does that mean they roam around the Houses or are they separated? Thank you!
Normally they stay in their apartments. Some dogs walk around Commons but they always have their owners/dog-walkers with them. I know North House’s dog, Anchor, likes to rest in the balcony area, but if you have any concerns, you can let your faculty head of house know.
One thing to note there are some service dogs on campus as well. DD has a very good blind friend who has a golden retriever with her at all times. The dog lives in her dorm room, with her roommate (they have a larger than normal room with a crate for the dog) and the dog attends all classes with her. The dog is super, super well behaved, although apparently occasionally flaps his ears in boredom during English class.
Pets are brought to campus to a specific campus location sometimes during exam study week for Pet Therapy for the students. All students get an email inviting them to come round to play with the dogs for a specific block of time.
