I've done some research and reading and found out that there is one house that allows certain types of pets - but no dogs or cats. Is this right?

Well, I then spoke with a woman whose daughter just graduated from Cornell a few years ago and she told me that the rules are that pets are not allowed, but no one says anything if you have a pet. She said that there were dogs and cats all over campus. I know that there is a veterinary school there, but she was saying that they really are people's pets.

So, how strictly are these rules enforced?

I also heard that there is no one really monitoring the dorms and even if you don't have an id, you can sneak in if you catch the door as someone else goes in/out. Is this true?

Oh yeah. I was there for DHW last fall and my host and I would just run into random halls behind people so he could show me around.

It would be nice too if you had a “guest” if you know what I mean who wanted to sleep in your room too. I went to Northeastern and they have security guard people at the entrance to all the dorms, checking ID’s for everyone. I’ve seen a few other schools like that as well. But at Cornell they’re pretty lax.
