What kind of career opportunities are there once you get a bachelors degree in pharmaseutical sciences?

Hello! I’ll be going into pharmaceutical sciences at UCI this fall if I SIR there, so though I’m not a current student, hopefully I can still answer your question. My dad works at a company where he manages some pharmacologists and pharmaceutical scientists, so some of this is what I’ve heard from him.

Many pharmaceutical science careers require or would like a specialized degree, like a Pharm. D. or a Ph.D. in pharmacology. However, there are some pharmacologists with just bachelor’s degrees, so if you want to go into the research and development of medicine (like I do!) that might be up your alley. Also, pharmaceutical scientists can work with bachelor’s degrees. It might be noted that many pharmacologists and toxicologists have Ph.D.s or M.D.s, so to be competitive, you may want to consider graduate school.

Best of luck! I hope to see you in some of my future classes! :)
