Hi, I'm a senior in High school and I am really interested in pursuing a career that allows me to focus on research. I specially like the idea of developing drugs. So, I have did some research.
By one side by becoming a PharmD, I would have a very high pay, but I am not sure if the pharmD is enough to do some real research. I don't want to work on retail stores! I have read that a pharmacist with a master can do research, but then it would take an eternity to leave school. By the other side, I think chemical engineers can do research but are not as well paid as pharmacists. How would it improve my opportunities to study a phD, maybe in pharmaceuticals? (I love the area) how are the future opportunities for each career? Now, I have heard about future oversupply of pharmacists, how real is that concern? Would the income of a chemical engineer doctor be that far from a pharmacist? Thanks!
