I'm a Spring Admit and I'm stressin' out over my shedule! My phase two appt is tomorrow and, so far, it's not lookin so hot. I'm an econ major and so far I only got a spot in 1 of the classes I wanted, STAT 20. I tried to sign up for three classes during phase one. For the other two, I'm number 15 on the waitlist for Econ 101A which has a class limit of 50, I think. I'm also number 33 on another waitlist for an Entrepreneur class @ Haas. This sucks. Tomorrow I'm planning to sign up for a class that satisfies the AC requirement. The problem is, that the class I want has DIS sections that are all in conflict with my schedule. Also I couldn't find many "decal" classes that everyone raved about at CALSO. I need to have a minimum of 13 units and so far it looks like I have a good chance at only getting 12. Any advice?

hey i'm a spring admit too. well i was originally accepted to the fall but i defered my admission to the spring. i don't know how i can help you. i have one easy question to answer. when you log on to my application, are your school transcripts still in review? mine have been in review for the longest time now. i'm just wondering.
thanks

i thought i heard the girl at the calso say that decal classes can only be added during the adjustment period, which is after phase 2. someone please correct me if i'm wrong. she also said to check back on the decal site during winter break for an updated spring decal course schedule.

DeCal classes will not show up until much later, probably right before finals . The schedule is small now, but usually grows significantly larger before the semester starts. No worries!

And sometimes, you get the CCN during the first class, and not online. You still have hope.

Wrathleik, are you a transfer student? If not, I suggest taking econ 1 since you're an econ major. Also, try to fulfill other requirements for L&S .

Yeah, I'm a transfer student. I took the equivalent of Econ 1 already and I'm like 90% sure that IGETC fulfills the L&S reqs, lthough I emailed KpasaLNS a question about that like a month ago and still haven't heard back...

So I still have hope? Am I too far down the waitlist for those classes I managed to get on? I hope I don't phukc up my first semester because of shceduling probs.

If I am on a witing list that is processed manually, do you guys think it will increase my chances of getting the class if I emailed the professor stating my profound interest and desire to be in the class?

Does anyone know how the different Phase appointments are assigned? I know that senority prevails between classes, but what about within your class... a lottery system maybe?

Wrathletik: If the waiting list is processed manually, definitely talk to the professor. Email, go to his/her office, etc. Show initiative and that may win the professor over and he/she will accomadate you.

And you never know with waiting lists...people drop like flies the first few weeks.

Ajitsmannan: Yes, a lottery system...but I do believe unit count also matters.

Thanks for the reply eiffel. Is it too late to email the profs? Isn't it the adjusment period right now? I think I'll email the prof anyways tomorrow after my calc test. I live in SoCal so going to the prof's office is out of the question.

So I'm sittin here trying to think of stuff I can say to the prof of the class that I REALLY want....but I'm just stuck in a hell of a writer's block. I don't know what to say. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated. I'm like 31 on the waitlist and I need help!

If a class consists of 200 students, the first 20 people on the waitlist will probably be admitted into the course. The percentage is usually about 10%.

Well supposedly Economics101A needs multivariable calculus, or Math53, which is even higher than 1B.

I am taking Economics100A next semester. It's less math-oriented. ( I did not take nor am I planning to take Math 53. I finished AP Calculus BC = the first two levels of calculus.)

I heard the professor for Econ100A is bad, but the course is okay, as long as you do the extra credit assignments.
