I have some questions about phillips academy.

  1. What am I supposed to be expecting at Phillips Academy
  2. What kind of students go there?
  3. I have an interview at Phillips in about 9 days, what should I be expecting at the interview? Is it bad to rehearse what Im going to say for the interview?

  2. Budding athletes, musicians, poets, mathematicians, scientists, engineers, etc. You name it.
  3. The interview is pretty laid back. You will get a chance to meet with an admissions officer, and go on a tour. Don't rehearse, they want to hear your honest opinion. If you come in with a memorized speech, it will be very apparent. Just be yourself.

Don’t rehearse what you are going to say but do prepare for the typical questions. Know your strengths and weaknesses and be able to articulate why you want to go to that school. Look at the website and formulate some questions to ask the interviewer.

I am currently a ninth grader at PA (don’t call it Phillips you’ll sound obnoxious). Just have fun and don’t worry about anything or be stuffy. There won’t be any classes on the 9th, so if that’s when you’re coming it might be hard to get a grasp. Really awesome people come here so try to be relaxed and have fun. It’s not bad to have a general idea of what to say but just don’t have like a rehearsed spiel. They have been at this for a while, they can tell when you’re speaking truthfully and not BS-ing stuff.

One more thing. I’m taking the SSAT in November. The part I struggle on are the synonym questions. Any tips?
