<p>I am a philosophy major transferring in fall 2010 and I wonder what those who have taken phil classes and who are phil majors think about the program here especially compared to the other UCs. Posted a similar thread on the Davis board as I haven't heard much about either department</p>
<p>Also I see these reading groups on the philosophy department page (It’s on their calender). Anyone been to one or heard about them? They seem interesting to me.</p>
<p>I’m taking Phil27 with Doppelt. Very interesting class and it’s only been the first week. We talk about the morals/ethics of abortion/gender/race/businesses. A bit of reading, but that’s all right. The lectures are pretty entertaining. Sorry, I can’t tell you much about the philosophy department because I haven’t taken any other Phil classes.</p>
