Philosophy at Wes

does anyone know if the philosophy department at Wes is strong?

small/large? what are the teachers normally like? what about the students? what kind of major is it treated as?

thanks!

I haven't taken a philosophy course in many years, but, my sense is the department is heavily oriented toward the German philosophers (Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Hegel) -- phenomenology is very big. There's some overlap with Religious Studies, so it is pretty hard to stereotype all the majors; they run the gamut. But yes, the department is pretty well respected on campus.
