Phone call for accepted deferrees?

<p>I was reading the Stanford archives (specifically this</a> post) and it sounds like SCEA deferrees get a phone call if they are later accepted. Can anyone confirm? Also, it sounds like the call comes before the letter, perhaps when the letters are first sent?</p>

<p>I was deferred SCEA also, so this is (possibly) great news for me!</p>

<p>ie, before they formally accept you, they call up to inquire whether you are stiil available/still interested.</p>

<p>The goal is to goose the yield rate for admits from the deferred EA pool.</p>

<p>Aw man. I'm going to be in Mexico all spring break (March 27-April 2). Well, hopefully whoever answers the phone could possibly convey my ridiculous passion for Stanford.</p>

<p>My daughter was deferred by Stanford last year. She received a phone call the weekend before April 1 and is now a happy freshman at Stanford. I know that this is a very stressful time. Hang in there-- there's hope!</p>

<p>Hmm, the weekend before April 1st is Easter weekend this year, I doubt they would call then, perhaps we might get calls this weekend? <em>hopeful</em></p>

<p>Well, if you've gotten into schools of that caliber I think it's basically pointless to wait from Stanford, just accept admission to the elite WCC.</p>
