I have chosen to do laundry, lol. My older daughter came back from her spring break trip to Colorado and is returning to college later today so guess who gets to do the laundry? Good distraction!

Does anybody know if getting into the MT program and the regular school are completely different? I got a letter from CMU admissions yesterday saying theyâve reviewed my application and were âanxiousâ to respond to me but Iâve forgotten to send in my school report. (Iâm a transfer and the school report wouldnât really give much info.) CMU was always a super reach for me but I thought my audition went very well! I wasnât expecting much, but now Iâm kind of like âAnxious to respondâŠwhaaaat?!?â I know some colleges accept you into the regular school and then you have to wait to hear from MT (Like Pace, who gave me a 20k scholarship but then no phonecall. Pewp.) Does anyone know CMUâs correspondence?

The MT/Drama departments get who they want. Period. I think you could get an 11 on the ACT and if the dept wants you, youâre in :).

Well, not necessarily true, I know of one person who had CMU tell them that they just could not admit him because his grades were SO poor. (I mean like, really poor. he barely graduated. I donât think he even walked.) But, does that mean that CMUâs drama department and admissions actually talk to each other? Iâve heard that CMU doesnât even look at your actual application unless youâre even being considered for the program. It was a very positive letter. âWe look forward to hearing from you very soon.â STAHP gettinâ ma hopes up!!! Hahahaha.

LuvMTs, itâs definitely true that I am more anxious than the applicant! My son doesnât really expect to get into Carnegie Mellon, and I have not told him about the phone call timing so as not to make him as neurotic as I am currently feeling! Once we hear from CMU the whole process is over and the decision will be essentially made. He has other schools to hear from, but none that he prefers to Ithaca except CMU.

If anyone happens to have three lemons, four eggs, and a stick of butter â hereâs a link to the Lemon Curd recipe. May it bring us good luck.
Haha I just have to say you guys are hysterical. I hope your kids get in :D. But I promise you, I have the best Scottish shortbread recipe on the planet. And Iâm a member of the Gordon clan. Darn, forgot to have my daughter mention those things on her application!! LOL.

Care to share the recipe for Scottish shortbread, this St. Patrickâs Day?

I make it for gifts and the recipe was given to me by someone special so I never give it out. BUT if my daughter gets into CMU I will give it to you all. Promise. This is a lottery school, after all, lol. :D

So far today, Iâve gone out for coffee with a friend, ran 5miles on my elliptical, baked 2 quiches and a broccoli/rice/chicken casserole. Iâll be starting on the pecan-crusted chicken next.

If I start dusting the bookshelves, please send help!!

DS is, of course, oblivious, and out for the afternoon watching one of his pre-college friendsâ performance in her high school production. I told him that if the âmagic numberâ appears, he needs to get himself the heck out of the auditorium and answer!

@bookowl at least youâre doing something productive! Iâm just sitting on the couch refreshing this page. Someone help meeee hehehehehe ;)

I was totally exaggerating about the ACT score but as long as you not a complete moron, CMU lets the dept decide who they want with very little input from admissions. I heard the talk three separate times and the adcoms always gave us a sad puppy dog look when we said MT as a major, and said admissions are totally up to the dept.

Iâm pretty sure acting calls have been started. I have it on good authority. Good luck.

@walker, true, but they still have to ADMIT you, correct? Hahahaha

Thanks, CarnegieMT. :D

YIKES! Calls have started? MT calls? Forgot to have my daughter mention her Scottish background as well. We have a family crest! LOL!! Good luck everyone! :)

Acting calls just at this moment.

Good luck all of you!!! Wonderful students and PARENTS who sacrifice so much to allow our kids to follow their dream. So many kids love this field and are driven from it because of parental disapproval. BRAVO! :D

what about MT??? BTW have really enjoyed reading all the recipe postsâyou guys are hilarious!

The MT calls are made by Gary and he hasnât started yet hah sorry!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Well at least we know that if there is not a call today, it is a no. Thanks CarnegieMT2012. You are so helpful to us all!
