So wonderful greyhairedman!

Hi RGT010 - my student was for MT :)

Mazel tov grayhairedman!!!

Grayhairedman- Yeah!! Worth the agonizing wait? Oh yes! Good for you and your son! Congratulations!

Thanks. Yes. Worth the wait.

actingmom, you are a teacher or coach? And you just had a student get accepted and her name is carnegiemt2012? Yes, put her in touch.

Would love to know how people know one another here. My son just went to auditions with my driving him. Canāt say I knew of anyone else. Are you all from Pittsburgh? How does everyone seem to have some inside info? I feel so out of the loop.

Hi grayhairedman - I am a coach on the West Coast. CarnegieMT2012 is a poster on CC - she is in this thread - She has always been very helpful to my students who have been accepted. If you want to private message me I can put you (your son) in contact with some of my students there and also my student who was just accepted! Very exciting!

Hi gigrighta - I have been hanging out on CC since 2007 - I donāt post much, but know many of the names of this helpful community :)

Good luck to everyone waiting!!

So are all the phone calls done now? Tell it to me straight please I will feel so much better if that is the case. Turns out the Boston Number was another theatre related thing and not a spammerā¦ And Congratz grayhairedman!!! Both my parents are CMU MT alums and I know he/she has an amazing 4 year journey ahead of him you should be so proud. I canāt believe how you guys are getting this inside info, my parents canāt get squat lol. But it may have a lot to do with they are very busy and may not be trying hard enough.

In other words MTboy412 your parents arenāt obsessing like the rest of us ? I am with you on this !! Just get it over with ! List called and we/they can all go back to deciding where they will go from the list that they have !!! Except of course we have the dreaded waitlists to deal with. Lol. It seems you might be from Pittsburgh ? My son also got a call an hour ago from a strange number and it went like thisā¦we would like to congratulate you blah blah blahā¦another school. ahh, big tease. Well, if anyone knows if all the calls are done, please post :-)

And, for those of you who got in for MT, did you audition for Barbara? Congrats to all!

Why should you MT folks get to avoid the stress of multiple days of unknown?

Acting calls began Sunday night and the only word on the street as of today is that the calls were not done and going to resume today. If someone got an acting call today, it hasnāt been posted anywhere.

CarnegieMT2012 or someone else in the program, it would be very helpful to know if and when all the calls have gone out.

Robinsings, no we are not from Pitt. I was born in D.C. and we moved when I was very young to NYC. My parents where stressing HARD until I received a few other acceptances from reputable schools, but what really shut them up was when I got a scholarship offer to U of Mich, but idk why they havenāt been freaking out about CMU since itās there dream to see me follow in there shoes in the First Place. But they both are incredibly busy right now, I barely got to get a chance to talk to them yesterday which is normally there off day, plus my mom is battling something awful and doesnāt talk unless she really has too. But forrealz, I donāt understand why they canāt just post it online!!! CCM had the liberty to atleast tell me they rejected me 2 weeks after I auditioned, Julliard told me 3 weeks after the call back I was no longer being considered, it would be nice if everyone followed in there shoes.

Well, Dad just came storming into apartment just now frantically asking if I received a CMU phone call yelling at me why I wasnāt answering my phoneā¦NEVER MIND THEY DEFINITELY DO CARE!!!

MTBoy412- Random Question: Are your parents working actors? Just asking since they went to CMUā¦

dreambelle13 Yes, but not broadway or any huge film as of recent. They both teach a LOT and that CMU tag really helps them get work. They also co-write for an online indie-soap. Itās tough we definitely arenāt the richest in the world but itās gotten better significantly since they payed off all there loans and debt. If you do choose to go to CMU and do not have the 60,000 a year to dish out upfront, you are going to have to make a HUGE decision going to CMU. My parents still struggle to find work certain times of the year. They are working ALL THE TIME. But they do love it. Growing up was very, very tough with them not being around all the time and not being as lucky as some others at my school. Please know that just cause you go to CMU it is no āgolden ticketā and it really ticks me off when I see that term fly around these forums.

Awesome reality check MTboy412. Thanks for sharing the story of your parents. Great perspective.

MTboy412,you are really funny. I hope you go to the same school as my S And oh, I said Golden Ticket, and we are cracking up now !! Did you do Mpulse this summer ? Good for you getting into UMich !!

MTboy412- Were you in Cabaret at PPAS? A boy who played a lead in the show got into UMich and he was absolutely INCREDIBLE!! If you are him, you deserve all of your success. If you arenāt him, well Iām sure you still deserve all of your success :)

LOL Thanks!!! Sorry I didnāt know if that was you robinsings definately didnāt mean to call you out. No I did not do Mpulse but I do know a prominent faculty member that teaches there now. Way back when my father was still doing theatre in Pittsburgh he did a Cabaret with him at the CLO. And ever since has been a close friend.

And for whatever reason I canāt reply to your PM dreambelle13, but here is what I wanted to say! HAHAā¦noā¦I wish!!! I have like the SMALLEST RANGE (shhhhh donāt tell CMU). And thank-you!!! O.K. itās not that small but some of those 4 octave boys at PPAS make my range look TEENY TINY.
