Did anyone else get a phone call from a current student?

This girl called me and asked if she could "make my decision easier" or if she could answer any questions.

I sent my app in late November and have been in contact with the admissions officer that inaterviewed me, but i've never received anything beyond an email.

I received a phone call... The admissions office seems really good about keeping in touch with applicants. It's kinda cool. :-)

I've received a bunch of e-mails, etc from my sports coach, but no call from a student or anything from the admissions counselor.

it might just be a phonathon thing where students get paid for making calls...we have that in my college too.....

I'm not sure about that though. When I asked the girl about finaid she said she really couldn't help me there since she had never had any finaid/filled out fafsa. So, in other words, she's not in much need of money.

The admission office hires students to contact prospies and help answer any questions they may have.

Two hours of work a week won't pay bills; however, they'll build a person's resume and prob. give her a foot in the door should she want to work for admissions later on, as a student-intern or post-whitman as an office. Face time is valuable.
