I was wondering how often I should be calling the staffers, ALO, and admissions counselors. Ive called the staffers to make sure that my applications for congressional representatives are complete, but I have not called my ALO since our last interview (August). I dont know if I should be regularly calling him to check up, but it seems to me that since I dont have any questions for him or anything else to tell him that I dont need to call him. Is this untrue, and I should be calling him to check up or should I stay on this same path? I dont want to become annoying to people with how often I call them so I try to refrain from making unneeded phone calls.

If you don't have any questions for him, then I would say that you don't really need to call. If there's something you'd like to ask though, then, of course, go right ahead.

Petko says call if you have a question. This sounds like a "question" to me -- that is, one you should address to your ALO. Call him/her up and let them know the status of your ap's at your congressional staffers and simply say -- "I don't mean to be a pest, but how often do you want me to update you on my status?" Your ALO won't know your concern if you don't communicate -- and what if they are taking your sparse communication the wrong way? Call them up and find out from them! They've been through this many times, and are there to help you. Take advantage of that help. Good luck!

Yes, I'd ask your ALO exactly what s/he might expect from you. My S calls when he has something to report, but keeps a list of questions so they can go over several issues in one call. Since ALO is a dentist in private practice, that has worked well for them. But raptordad is right: ask your ALO!
