1.how do i find out my alo nomination, i know this seems like a stupid question and nobody serious about the academy would ask such a stupid question but im only a sophomore and am difficulty finding one in my area

How early should i contact my ALO

What should i say when i call him, sound stupid again, but i dont have any real questions because iv researched so much and am still 2 years away

cincinnati ohio by the way for any other applicants in the area

It's too early for you to contact an ALO in your area. You will be assigned one after you complete you pre-candidate questionnaire and/or apply for the summer scientific seminar during your junior year.

the air force acadmy candidate book and academy admissons site both say that you should talk to your ALO as soon as you can for some reason

"You are encouraged to contact your ALO at your earliest opportunity. Ask your guidance counselor for the name of your local ALO."

is from academy admissions website,,, but is it better to wait til im assigned on junior year and then call?

Yes... wait until your junior year starts at least. There's very little an ALO can do for you before Spring of your junior year that you can't do yourself or find for yourself on-line. And frankly, if you're on the ball and know where to look, not much other than the interview after that. I've known MANY, MANY cadets who met with their ALO only once or twice before arriving at USAFA. Some ALOs are much better than others...
