@Renomamma @TiggyB62 FYI
@CT1417 You are now my family’s personal hero of the month!!! I need to share this with everyone because the point of this thread is generally about saving money on cell service for use at Cornell and elsewhere.
CT1417 gave me some great advice, and I just got off the phone with Verizon. Because of CT1417’s tips, I will be saving $90 per month backdated to July 11!!! So, my new bill will be approx $192/mo (down from $283) for 4 iPhones, 16GB /mo data, and unlimited voice/text.
Today I changed from a “More Everything” Verizon plan to their new “Verizon Plan.” Now unused data rolls over for one month. Because our 2-year contract period recently ended for each of our iPhones, the phones went down from $40/mo each to $20/mo each. And, the monthly plan charge would be significantly lower for less shared data than 16GB.
Anyway - I am very excited and wanted to share this with anyone who might still be on an older Verizon plan. Especially because my former plan was not that old. Pays to call in & check each 6-12 mos for better deals -

@oldfort THANK YOU for that hilarious story! Glad to know someone else has had a few data usage issues…I also had to call Verizon when my oldest was in middle school, in the days when we used to have to pay $0.05 for each individual text msg and he had just gotten his new cell phone — I suddenly got an amazingly high bill for text messages, which were all like “Hey!” “Yeah” “Me too” “Duh.” Verizon was very nice to help me out, and we went on a new plan for text msgs…Glad they are unlimited now…
