Okay...so I currently have AT&T cellphone services. I was planning on getting the new iPhone 3G for college next year. I am going to be a freshman. But apparently, my parents want us to change to T-Mobile. Now I need to choose a phone that I want. I was wondering if you guys recommend any T-Mobile phones. Price isn't really a big deal.

What are you preferences? small/big? simple phone/complex phone. I have tmobile and i use an unlocked sony ericsson w580i. I like it.

t-mobile had terrible service when i had it, and the phones...eck i hate them, sidekicks are not me.
I would either stick with att, iphones are amazing, and probably the best phones out there.
Or go to verizon which has the best service nationwide, and pretty good phones..venus, voyager, envy2, chocolate, envy, etc...or a smartphone

Verizon and Att are pretty much the only two carriers I trust

Prices are the same too, t-mobile should be the same as the other two?

You should get the phone that has the best coverage at your school. The type of phone doesn't really matter when you have no service.

T-Mobile has the Blackberry and sidekick. that's about it.

Actually, my dad has a Blackberry and we have Verizon.

I think he got his through his work though.

^most companies have the Blackberry. It's not solely tmobile.

I wouldn't reccomend t-mobile. If you do... i would go with the national calling plan, that way you're sure it works almost everywhere...

I personally have alltel. it's a good carrier, and for upgrading our family plan they gave us all unlimited text and calling at 7...

i have tmobile and a iphone. its unlocked and I love it, I love Tmobile.

I have t-mobile and it sucks. I have ZERO service at my house and there's a tower like 3 miles away. apparently verizon really does have service everywhere, according to a friend.

I get great tmobile reception in the bay area and everywhere I've gone

Take a look at the T-Mobile Dash and the T-Mobile Wing.

Also, I have received good service from T-Mobile where I had terrible service from AT&T/Cingular. Wireless service simply is a function of your location.

^
Yes. Check with people in your college. Don't ask us cause we don't go there. ~

My T-Mobile Blackberry Curve has treated me well.

I've had T-Mobile but we are switching because T-Mobile fails on the East Coast. On the West Coast it works fine. Sidekick and blackberry are fine, but I like the more simple Samsung phones (they last pretty well--I've dropped mine in the toilet once and it still worked).

A bunch of my friends here in Pasadena have T-Mobile, and it seems to be mediocre at best. It's difficult to get reception inside most of the buildings here, and I seem to be the only person I know that can leave their cell phone on the desk in their office and still get reception (I have Verizon).
