PHY SAT II: Which prep book helped you the most for the 800?

The title.
I got a PR now. Would Barron's or Kaplan be necessary? Btw I m a junior now, a couple of concepts are bound to be new. Wich book do u suggest?
Thanks a million peeps!!

Check Kpalan out of a library, or buy it. It has awesome explanations of concepts. However its practice problems are WAY too easy. I did one of its full tests in 30 (!!) minutes and only missed 3.

PR for tests!

i cant help i only got a 780 :(

780 is wow. did u use PR? how much time does it take with PR if you have forgotten all of physics?

if you took ap physics b, got a high grade in the class and are preparing well enough to get a 5 on the AP exam, is any real prep needed for the SAT II physics?

i bought pr and kaplan, got frustrated with some of the pr so i used kaplan instead haha

as far as ap physics b goes i took the sat physics in nov at the beginning of the class and i got a 780...i am expecting to get anywhere from a 2-3 on the ap test if that tells ya anything

The PR seems a bit too less, sometimes easy and concise. I mean where's chaos theroy and supercondivity on PR though they are included in the test. Anything above 750 is GR8!!! so thanks for the input dude08.

I found PR FAR more comprehensive than the actual exam.

And I just googled chaos theory and superconductivity and learned it myself.

Kaplan on the other hand was easier to understand, but WAY to easy. It took me 30 minutes to get an 800 on one of their practice tests

Everything on the test was in PR.

lol @ ephemeral, cuz i have the same question!! :)

the current princetion review book??? lol, it was the same as 2001-2002 edition. those PR just recycle those two practice tests. but i bought the offical SAT 2 book and it has offical physics test in it.
how similar is AP Physics exam to SAT 2 physics??

Well, I am sticking to PR then. Barrons is much harder than the actual exam isnt it? The SAT official for subject tests, does it have past SAT exam questions for physics only or everything?

The AP physics B has similar content to SAT II physics subject test, So flipping through a SAT Physics prep book will probably take a couple of days only. And it would be a good idea to do that just to get more focused for the exam. Hope that was helpful to ephemeral (!!) and Narcissa.

And thanks for the input peeple =))

The thomson Peterson's book SAT II success Physics covers many things in an organised way. Anyone tried it before?
