i'm an engineer and trying to decide on which science to take. Which course is easier/ less work, chem 105 (both semesters) or phys 151 and phys 152? thanks.

Also, are engineers required to take the prereq chem 050 in order to take chem?

I think chem 050 is only for if you don't pass the placement exam, but I could be wrong.

busiman, I think you are confused.

Go here: USC Viterbi School of Engineering : Undergraduate Bulletin

and find your major and look at the course requirements. I'm fairly certain all engineers have to take both Phys 151 and 152 and most are required to take chem 105a

Chem 105a is REALLY easy...105b is a quite a bit tougher (but still doable). 151 and 152 are tough, but if you are an engineer (other than CS) you should be decent at physics, in which case you can handle them.

Im a comp sci/ business major, so I'm only required to take two semesters of a either bio, chem, or physics.

CubsRule, thats what i figured, especially hearing about "mastering physics," so im probably going to switch to chem! thanks
