PHYS 7A w/ concurrent enrollment in Math 1a

A friend of mine already passed AP Calc AB with a 5, but he chose to enroll in Math 1A. If he signed up for Phys 7A while being concurrently enrolled in Math 1A, will he get kicked out of his Physics class? Thanks.

He needs Math 1B credit or take physics 7a concurrently. Telebears will initially let you enroll in classes even w/o proper pre-reqs... but towards the end of august it will do a scan of ppl enrolled and kick out people who shouldn't be in the class.

however, ppl do slip thru cracks... so maybe luck will help him out

ethancc: I had previously thought that the instructors were the ones who checked your prereqs, at least for small classes. Like in Bio 1AL, Meighan supposedly combs through the enrollment list searching for people who haven't taken Chem 3.

Anyway, it's true that they CAN kick you out, but I don't think most classes will be this anal--I actually know a girl who took Math 1A and Physics 7A concurrently, as well a guy who took Engineering 45 without Physics 7A. Can't think of any other such instances off the top of my head, but your friend shouldn't have anything to worry about, especially since the Phys 7a profs actually have meaningful stuff to do (unlike Meighan, who seems to spend his time making 1AL dumberer).

Hi, I took CC math 150 and 151 in High school, equivalent to math 1a and 1b. But i'm planning to take math 1B again to fulfill the HAAS math prereq. I also want to take Physics 7a, I'm fine right? How do I submit my CC math credit to Berkeley before they do the eliminations?

Is this really true? I can't imagine how such a scan could be completed, it would end up kicking out lots of legitimate students. I can't imagine such a thing actually takes place.
