I've pretty much stopped lifting now. I'm doing one of Stew Smith's workouts (though expanding it to 10 weeks instead of 6). I still use weights for shoulders, traps, a few leg exercises, curls and pull-downs.

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this but i lost pretty much all of my strength in terms of like bench and squats during bct. I went from 215 max on the bench to just over 150 simply because i never was able to do any lifing for 6 weeks. I recommend that you just focus on the kinds of exercises that you will be doing in BCT (Push ups, diamond push ups, flutter kicks, crunches, up downs, lots of running, pull ups, wall sits, and the front leaning rest. There are of course other things that they do in BCT, but these are pretty much the main ones.

It would also be a good idea to cross-train. Aerobic sports such as running and swimming (especially) will help you get used to the alititude. Of course, everyone will have to do their push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups...all that good stuff.

usafaskydiver-- What exactly is the front leaning rest?

The front leaning rest is the "up" part of a pushup. It is considered a resting position since you can lock out your elbows and you are not moving. But your arms should be straight out, your body should be perfectly straight and your toes should be the only thing touching the ground other than your hands. You can be in this position for very long periods of time. I say start practicing now like while watching tv.

Ah. Okay. Thanks.
