Physics C has me backed in a corner...

Anyone know anything at all for some sort of quick study?

Same thing happened to me. Ive been being stupid and not keeping up with the syllabus, should have never tried to self study it. I’ve actually decided not to take E+M even though I signed up for it because the college I’m going to only gives credit for a 5, and right now, I’m not too sure I can get a 5. I’m still taking Mech though- it’s so much easier when self studying.

To answer your questions, if you are self studying the course, then it is not really possible to cram E+M but Mech should be very doable. Just buy a review book, read through the rotational motion chapter and the connection between translational motion and rotational, and brush up on some basic calc and start Taking practice tests and that should be a pretty easy 4/5.

yeah man im only taking mechanics and i’m so nervous. I found old tests and questions are so hard. Strangely though…new exam questions are easy for me. Can you recommend a good review book?

I’m not alone! xP

Strangely enough, I feel less confident about mechanics because I haven’t done any since January, while I’ve been doing E&M for the last few weeks. I mainly use PR and occasionally AP Advantage for review.

For quick study, all I can really suggest is to review the formula sheet and/or the short summaries at the end of each chapter…

I’m kind of nervous for Mechanics. I haven’t really done much to prepare for it… We took a released test in class and I got 23/35 on the MC. Is that about a 3? I want at least a 4…

Edit: I’m only taking Mechanics.

I’m using Princeton Review, and so far, it’s been great. Are you taking E+M?

^^If we assume you’ll do equally well on the FR, then that would actually be well within range of a 5. You need ~55-65% of the points to get a 5. (Physics is hard for many people!)

I just don’t think I’d be able to score that well on the FRQ’s. I’m thinking ~50% on those. I have difficulty deriving equations, and that has become increasingly prevalent on the C exams the last few years.

50% on FR with that MC score would put you at a high 4/low 5. Get some more practice and you’ll be fine; even if you get a 4, it’s a respectable score for a test like Physics C.

Extremely helpful

I also found 4 or 5 (each) E&M and Mechanic MC tests by searching around the internet.

^^can you post some of the tests you have found? or at least the links to them?

thanks!
