Physics Regents

Not sure, but the best answer would definitely be a curve.

Wasn't the problem with the moon 1.6m/s^2 ?

eh your right.
mcs anyone? there were like 46 and quite a few tricky ones i thin.

"There was an 8N force pulling on it and 6N force of friction so net was 2N. Fnet = ma . m=2.04kg a=.98m/s2

Energy level was 3."

for that i rounded the 2.04 to 2 kg and got 1 for the acceleration, but was there anything that said what to round to? i hope i dont get those wrong...
also i got n=2 for the last question energy level.

I don't think there were any rounding rules so you should be fine.

There was not enough energy in the photon to ionize a hydrogen atom electron at n=2. It was like 2.08eV or something like that. The lowest was 3.

**** screwed that 1 up, what about the one with the gravitational force of the moon on the earth... was it F or F/81 ?

It was F. Newton's third law.

lol screwed that up too... but those 2 are the only things i got wrong i think... hopefully 98

yunu, you went with the curve? Just making sure because I read it and it definately said "line or curve". If I recall correctly, you are right about the moon question (1.6 or something like that). Wendyling, from what I remember, your MC's appear right although I don't remember the "prob 2, 2.2 m/s" you are referring to. One person in the last six years has achieved 100 and I think I might have become the second (fingers crossed).

I know I got one wrong, so I won't get that 100 :(, but my friend might. At least I still have a shot at 99 :D

are u serious that 1 person in the last 6 years has gotten 100?...

Yes. Several people got 99 on stupid mistakes like forgetting units and the like. But last year my friend, who called me every day panicking about how he was in the 80's, actually managed to pull off 100. And this year my teacher told me that since he's taught at my school (6 years), that was the only 100.

I still remember a lot of the questions but its just pointless to write them out while jmap will have them tomorrow.

I'll talk on AIM if anyone really wants to go over questions.

how do you know jmap will have them tomorrow?

ok...so they do have bio and chem. are u sure tomorrow?

That test was ridculously easy. If i get below a 95 I will cry.
Does anyone want me to make a thread for posting regents scores sort of like for act and sat's?

um...no..i dont think its necessary lol. it will only lower some peoples (my) self-esteem. if i get a 95, i will cry..for joy. i guess i just suck at physics.

jmap...just let me know if i passed rofl.

I suck at physics too wendy. I had diffuclty averaging just an 88 but the regents was a piece of cake even though the class was hard.

i guess its good then that you were prepared for it.
im just glad its over.
someone post if jmap puts up answers... im going to sleep lol.

If anyone doesn't want to wait, if you PM me questions, I can try to give you answers.

wait...if your already in john hopkins, why did you take the physics regents lol?

I didn't think it was too bad...then again, it was my third test on the exact same material. (AP, SAT II, Regents. Pathetic.)

As for that energy level question, I was doing really well and then I was like, are you kidding, I don't know the very last question!? Got in in the end though, I guess, according to the people here :).

Also, was the one with the resistor and the switch the one with the switch/resistor in series? I just don't like circuits. And, not to sound completely idiotic, what is jmap?
