Physics

Any thoughts on the physics program at Bennington?

It’s basically nonexistent, unfortunately. I’m at Bennington now and it’s very hard to study any STEM-related field too in-depth because they push the interdisciplinary thing so hard here. If you want to do physics and something else, you might have a better time, but otherwise it might be difficult. There’s one physics course being offered this fall, and it’s Physics 1. Usually only one, maybe two, courses for bio/chem/physics are offered each term and there’s only one physics professor in the faculty who doubles in astronomy. He’s a great guy, but he’s the only guy. Definitely not a physics “program” or department here by any means.

Let me know if you have any questions! Happy to discuss further over PM. For what it lacks in concrete departments, opportunities to closely work with faculty and Field Work Term definitely help make up for it.

Thank you so much. I was thinking that might be the case but just doing due diligence! I appreciate your response!
