Yes, Pacific Island is considered minority. By "asian", most people think Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indian. There are others who would fall into that list but those four form the bulk of the grouping.

ehhh in my opinion, and thats really all i have, i strongly believe that asians are definately MINORITIES but are in NOOOOO WAY, under-represented.....at ANY school let alone the ivies and/or tier I's. the reason why an african-american applicant is considered underrepresented is because they are literally not depicted evenly amongst the other students/applicants....i mean think about it: out of 20,000 applicants....only like 400-600 AA students are granted admission let alone apply so thats why they are considered underrepresented. but like....an asian applicant, in MY opinion -i have to reiterate that-, is not underrepresented because of those 20,000 applicants around HALF of them are asian. which is fantastic considering how it used to be 50-60 years ago but...God...there are no shortage of them at all, if u walk onto ANY campus ur bound to spot at least one every minute ur there (if u think im joking try it) whereas you really cant say the same about AA or latinos......and native americans are like a COMPLETELY different story -laughs-. sorry for the tangent. once again, i know this is a VERY hot topic so im gonna say again that this is only my opinion.
