Pachelbel’s Canon, I love it. I played it at my grandma’s funeral because it was her favorite song.

All keys and modes in octaves, 6ths and 10ths… Tedious but I only practice scales once a week because I’m lazy…

Fav composers to play. Scriabin, Ligeti (Devil’s Staircase), Chopin, Scarlatti.

I can read Treble, Bass, Alto and Tenor clef more or less fluently though i’ve never been in a situation where I’ve had to sight read in Alto/Tenor clef…

I can hit high A

I like joe hisaishi

^ yes.

I’m learning Merry-go-round of life on the piano.
It will be quite epic.

lololol @ tcbh

I’m not the best pianist, but I love playing Yiruma.

Recently finished Tchaikovsky’s 1st, but only the 1st mvmt.

Love Chopin’s works, especially his ballades. Overly dramatic concertos (such as the Grieg) are fun too.

^ I dislike Grieg… I much prefer Rachmaninov, Liszt or Prokofiev.

I quit piano a while ago, but my brother plays, and I do like Chopin.
There’s this kind of jazz piano prodigy at my his school, and the guy is really great. I think I’ve developed a liking for jazz piano recently.

Oh god, this thread makes me feel so guilty.
I quit piano two years back and promised myself to, if nothing else, be able to play ‘Carmen’. Oh, how far I have fallen.

I like Chopin’s Nocturne.

I used to listen to Prokofiev to fall asleep at night. That one thing he did was amazing.

Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff are all pretty amazing. Vladimir Horowitz’s piano renditions of several pieces, especially Saint-Saens’ Danse Macabre, are simply awesome.

I also greatly enjoy George Winston’s version of Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Side note: has anyone heard of “Faerie’s Aire and Death Waltz”? Look it up on Google Images right now if you haven’t. It’s supposed to be a nonsensical musical score, with really odd notes and musical directions (e.g. “Adagio cantabile with a rock tempo feel”, “Tune the Uke”, “water pedal”, “add bicycle”, “sing ‘hey, hey, hey-o, ho hey!’”) :p

Theres an old piano here and i wish i could learn how to play it, but alot of the keys dont even work. Im kinda jealous of all you people who can play instruments good. Some people spend alot of time practicing. One of my friends has to take piano lessons.

I know this were 2 months ago post, but PIANISTS! what is your motivation of playing piano? Just wondering.

My mum made me. Though I enjoy playing it as well.
