Picking a University- Married Engineering Major

And it is a thing that your HS DE classes affect your GPA? I thought that wasn’t a thing, unless though, you took credit for low grade classes? It just seems off to me that UH wouldn’t entertain your app as a full pay instate transfer.

Perhaps because its engineering division is oversubscribed? Here are its transfer applicant GPA minimums: https://www.egr.uh.edu/academics/admissions/requirements

UTA is a great university with a well respected police force. Arlington is a wonderful city and very affordable cost of living, especially compared to Austin and San Marcos. I live in Arlington and have home in Austin also, due to my spouse’s line of work. Our eldest just graduated from TXST in May. My property taxes are much higher in Williamson County part of Austin than my Tarrant County taxes. Water is also higher in Austin. Austin house is 700sf smaller than Arlington. My middle child is in nursing at UTA and it has been a great experience. Lots of traditional and non traditional students. UTA has a strong partnership with Lockheed Martin (Fort Worth and Grand Prairie locations) as well as with many other industries/companies.

Besides Arlington, there are other cities in the Metroplex your husband can apply as a police officer. Dallas, Irving, Fort Worth, Pantego, DalWorthington Gardens, Grand Prairie, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Burleson, Aledo, etc, etc. Take online “reviews” with a grain of salt. It is a great university and is expanding.
