good ECs.........................

that's hecka deceptive. anyway you have a good shot. apply and pray for that acceptance letter.

My biggest worry is that my GPA is too low despite my rigorous courseload. I'm top 20 percent since my school doesn't weigh courseload at all(lots of kids taking easy classes to get that 4.0) but all my B's are in AP math/science classes. I'm hoping that my math scores and stuff will show that I'm a capable math student and I'm not going into engineering, so hopefully a B+ in AP Physics or something won't kill me. Are any of you aware if Stanford views GPA merely as something just to check off to know that an applicant is academically capable or do they discern readily between a 3.8 and a 4.0 for instance?? Thanks.:)

You just nuked your chances with the sexist thread title.

;)

I have the same question about the GPA. How much of a difference is it between a 3.8 and 4.0? (UW)

"How much of a difference is it between a 3.8 and 4.0? (UW)"

It would depend on your school profile. If 3.8 puts you in top 5-10% of your class, you are fine. If it's top 30%, you probably should not bother applying.

where are my hot girls pictures?

ACT great. SATs not so great. GPA is not good. ECs/Awards are generic (you have leadership, but nothing really stands out)

probably reject, unless you pull off SUPER essays and get straight As first semester senior year

^I totally agree with that evaluation!!!:) You basically read my mind dude, except for the part that SAT scores don't matter if you have a higher ACT score or vice versa, since Stanford takes your highest of the two combinations.

how many times have you taken the SAT I? i don't understand the disparity between the ACT and SAT I scores

I've taken the SAT twice with around a 2000 the first time(October in junior year) and obviously 2200 the second time in April. I got my 35 ACT in June after getting a 31 in February. Pretty sure that I can get 2300+ if I were to retake the SAT I, which I will in January, since I was feeling sick when I took it the second time...
