--Pictures of the Beautiful WashU Dorms--

Hey again!

In case you guys didn't see jemarcus' post,

if you join the Facebook group "WashU Bear Buddies 2009-2010" you will see that students have posted pictures of the WashU dorms+rooms and South40 area.

Welcome to Facebook | Facebook

This group was started by fellow CC'er jemarcus and is comprised of current WashU and graduated WashU students who are volunteering to answer questions for the incoming freshmen. In the Discussion section of the group you will find the list of students organized by majors as well as a listing of who to contact about a wide range of extracurriculars.

Well you might or might not find them “beautiful” -_- but they are as good as college dorms can get ;)

Bumpty Dumpty
sat on a wall…

why do we have to request to join? kind of annoying.

I think it’s so the group can confirm you’re in the WashU network first. Otherwise, ANYONE from ANY network can join, and there may be information some of the WashU students wouldn’t want out in the open public, like their activities, majors, and which dorms they live in.

I, too, was perplexed about the request at first but then I realized that it was very reasonable considering how open the WashU students in the group are about their academic and social life.

Zenith is exactly right.

The membership to the group requires my approval for you to join for a few reasons:
-The 100+ current students who are a part of this group thought it was a reasonable measure that takes minimal amount of time to people signing up. It also protects them from being spammed. They are doing a service to incoming students and abusers (who would inevitably come into an open group) would make the current less likely to help the incoming students.
-It allows me to explain the features to everyone who signs up.

If you have any questions about how the group functions or what we do…please let me know.

As far as pictures, our group has over 80 photos of areas that you may not see on a visit including: lecture halls, the inside of dorms, student areas, and more.

Bump.
Bump.2

I requested, and it seems like the Bear Buddies leader friended me, but I haven’t been accepted into the group.

Ok, can anyone upload them (those unprivate ones) to some other places like flickr?

Giving to the reason I can’t access to Facebook, and from previous posts it seems like difficult to join in the group

@applicannot: Sorry about that. Your privacy settings wouldn’t let me send you a message. I included in my friend request information on joining the group. Since I have not received that back from you, I have not let you join the group (it’s mostly to make sure that you are a real person). I had an orgo test tonight, so my time has been limited. Tomorrow, I will try to contact people who I had to send a friend request to, with another message re-iterating how to join the group, if you are interested.

The main point of Bear Buddies is to pair incoming/accepted/incoming students with current students with similar academic and extracurricular interests. Pictures of the dorms is definitely a secondary, if not tertiary part of the group. By joining the group, you will be getting access to current students as well as getting pictures. I’m sorry for the confusion.

Oh yeah. My privacy settings are up alllll the way. I ran into a lot of problems with that last round of acceptances.

Anyone know where I can find a cool
“BUMP thread” picture in text so I can paste this here instead of a boring

BUMP

Bumping for you zenith.

bumping again

Bumping this with 20N…up up it goes!
Thread is 0.5 kg
If it enters free fall, how long will it take to hit the ground?

I requested to join, I’m not going to be a freshman but I’m transferring from Lehigh University so whatever

Oh wow, this whole system is pretty ace. I appreciate all the help man, thanks.
